SABIR MATEEN’s enduring presence which no-one can ignore within the scene of improvisational music has made him protagonist of one chapter in Phil Freeman’s book "New York Is Now! The New Wave of Free Jazz".
He began playing with Horace Tapscott's Pan African People's Arkestra almost four decades ago. Although he played with Sun Ra, he did not join the Arkestra, in favor of going his own way. He has played all over the US and around the world and is a big participant in the improv music scene, performing and recording with Test, the One World Ensemble, Tenor Rising (all with fellow Earth Person Daniel Carter), Sunny Murray's bands, the Raphe Malik Quartet, Alan Silva, Kali Fasteau, Butch Morris, Bill Dixon, William Hooker, and many others. When in New York and not playing venues such as the Knitting Factory and the Cooler, Mateen has performed on subway platforms and at various underground happenings.

"
CONNY BAUER has mastered the wide range of techniques available to the contemporary trombonist," writes John Corbett, "as well as the web of genres in which the instrument is imbricated."
Konrad "Conny" Bauer was born in 1943 in Halle an der Saale, Germany. Since 1973 he has performed around the world with major improvisers such as Peter Brötzmann, Han Bennink, Butch Morris, Anthony Braxton and George Lewis. His big band experience includes stints with Globe Unity Orchestra, NDR Big Band and London Jazz Composers Orchestra.
Conny Bauer is inextricably linked to the ensembles Exis, FEZ, the K. Bauer Quartett, the K. Bauer Trio, Doppelmoppel and the Zentralquartett, acting as initiator or founding member. In addition to the SWR Jazz Prize, Conny Bauer has also received the German Federal Land of Berlin’s Order of Merit and most recently the German Record Critics’ Award.

„I’ve praised the qualities of both
Kugel and Tokar before ... Both men are extremely precise instrumentalists with a shared musical vision of sculpting jazz into a more universal musical language.“ - Stef Gijssels, Freejazz-stef
.
MARK TOKAR is a key figure in the ukrainian jazz scene“ - AllAboutJazz
„Tokar's larger-than-life tone and impeccable intonation is front-and-center ... „ - John Vincent Barron, Jazzreview.com
.
„Drummer
KLAUS KUGEL is one of Central Europe's busiest and most articulate modern jazz drummers ... he treads the boundary between inside and outside playing in a particularly incisive way; always listening and never getting caught up in his own considerable chops.“ - Dave Wayne, AllAboutJazz
